Streamflows drop below seasonal normal statewide
Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS monitoring sites in Georgia
Light drizzle with fog-mist and 65 degrees at Warner Robins Air Force Base heading for a high of 78 degrees. A slight chance of showers through the day, and into the evening. Fair, 73 degrees at Hunter US Army Airfield in Chatham County, high today 80F.
Streamflows have shifted lower statewide, the below seasonal and much below seasonal ratings dominating the USGS network dashboard on both sides of the drainage divide. Accordingly, the drought map is filling in. Moderate drought grips the northwest state line including Coosa, Tallapoosa and Chattahoochee River watershed area, the remainder of north and central Georgia rated below normal. In the south, a small portion of Flint River watershed remains below normal on the Gulf side of the divide, and a small portion of Lower Savannah River watershed below normal on the Atlantic side.
Safe Drinking Water Advisories
84% of Georgia drinking water facilities have a clean operational record with no current SDWA violations as of the last US EPA verified reporting quarter, ended September 30, 2024.
