Streamflow Situation from the network of river monitors of the USGS throughout the watersheds of Georgia
A record high water level for this date found in Sope Creek, the highest recorded streamflow in forty years at the monitoring site near Marietta. According to provisional data, the creek took a rapid rise from just over a foot deep to more than six feet deep overnight. The rise started around 8 pm last night, receding since 8 this morning. This provisional data is to be confirmed with USGS, more to follow. Sope Creek is a tributary of the Chattahoochee River, this watershed now fully recovered from drought. Streamflows throughout the northwest rose over the weekend, from the below normal rating of Friday, to above normal ratings today. No active flooding is recorded in the reference network, and no extreme high or low flows.

The drought map has cleared the one area remaining for the Gulf of Mexico basin over the weekend, Flint River watershed is no longer rated below normal. On the Atlantic side of the drainage divide, Satilla-Altamaha basin still shows below normal in the St. Mary's river waterhed through Charlton County.
