Streamflow Situation from the network of river monitors of the USGS throughout the watersheds of Georgia
Water levels are rated consistently normal from north to south, on both sides of the drainage divide, the watersheds feeding the Gulf of Mexico and the watersheds feeding the Atlantic Ocean. Sensors in the reference network are sending provisional data indicating the normal range for this date, compared to historic water levels on New Years Day. There are no active floods, no extreme high or low flows indicated in the network of monitoring stations.
Drought rating below normal has been removed for Satilla\Altamaha River watershed through Appling, Camden and Glynn Counties, these are recovered back to normal based on the 7-day average water levels compared with the average over many years of monitoring. Flint River watershed is back on the drought map in the lower end, from Early County to the outlet in Lake Seminole. St. Mary's River watershed, part of the Satilla-Altamaha basin, remains below normal, impacting Charlton County.
Fair and 52 at Warner Robins Air Force Base, high 57 with sun in the north and central areas for New Years Day. Its 56 degrees at Hunter US Army Airfield near Savannah, the Charleston SC local forecast tells us to expect a sunny day, high 61 degrees.
