Christmas Day Report
Streamflow Situation from the network of river monitors of the USGS throughout the watersheds of Georgia
Fair and 37 degrees at Warner Robins Air Force Base, the high today around 60 with sunny skies for the north and central watersheds of Georgia. Fair and 50 degrees at the Hunter US Army Airfield, the local forecast office Charleston SC reporting partly sunny conditions with high around 60 for Christmas Day.
Streamflows run mostly below normal throughout the northern ranges and much below normal to low in the Chattahoochee River downstream of Buford Dam. Central and south Georgia record mostly normal streamflow levels in both drainage basins midweek. The drought map has expanded overnight, the lower Flint River watershed now appearing below normal in Seminole, Miller and Early Counties. Chattahoochee River watershed remains below normal from the head of the drainage basin in Lumpkin and White Counties, down to Muscogee County. Altamaha River watershed remains below normal in south Appling County, St Mary's River watershed is below normal through Charlton County. No flooding is observed as of this report, no extreme high or low flows of note in the reference network of streamflow gauges.
