NWS Autumn 2024 Climate Summary
NWS has published the autumn climate summary for Georgia, high and low temperatures for Athens, Atlanta, Columbus, Macon, Dekalb, Fulton County, Gainesville, Peachtree City and Rome. Atlanta had the second warmest autumn on record, the record from 2016 stands. Atlanta had three inches more rainfall than the seasonal average. See the full Autumn 2024 Climate Summary, here.
Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Chatham County: A BWA was issued for all water customers in Pooler following a positive e.coli test at one of the system's water sample sites. Pooler serves 21,187 residents from a surface water source purchased from another water facility in Chatham County. For more information, contact Mark Williams at 912-330-8650.
Forsyth County: Some Cumming area residents came under a BWA this week after a major water main break. Chattahoochee Elementary School (Home of the Champions) was impacted with this order, along with Forsyth County Fire Hall 5 and all other customers connecting on Holtzclaw Road between Pilgrim Mill Road and Holtzclaw Drive. The water main break and BWA extends to all cross streets in the area bound by Chattahoochee Road between Holtzclaw Road and Stone Creek Circle until further notice. Forsyth County Water and Sewer serves 161,200 customers from a surface water source, Lake Lanier, in the Chattahoochee River watershed. Note the recent flooding in this area, including Big Creek was ongoing the same day as the water main break, Dec 10. See yellow tags on the map to the right for the location of the BWA.
Long County: Ludowici Water System BWA ended Dec 13 at 5 pm.
