Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS monitoring sites in Georgia
A few clouds, 55 degrees in north Georgia Monday, 70% chance of rain showers after 3pm today with up to a quarter inch possible, high 68. The chance of rain goes to 90% overnight, and 100% tomorrow night with up to an inch of new rainfall to refresh the waterways possible over the next 24 hours.
Streamflows continue at below normal to seasonal normal through the north and central regions, picking up to fully normal water levels across the south on both sides of the drainage divide. As of this report, there are no active floods observed in the network, no extreme high flows. Tobesofkee Creek is running at a record low for this date, the daily controlled release from the Tobesofkee Dam has not come through yet, the extreme low value will likely resolve within the day.
The drought map remains largely as reported yesterday, north and central Georgia watersheds rated entirely below normal on both sides of the divide, today including the Upper Savannah River watershed, unrated yesterday now below normal. Coosa River watershed still has some unrated area, including west Lumpkin, Dawson, Cherokee and Bartow Counties.
