Flooding continues in Ohoopee, Canoochee, Ogeechee and Savannah Rivers
Streamflow Situation from the USGS network of streamflow gauges in Georgia
Increasing cloud with a chance of showers tonight, high 67 the forecast from NWS Peachtree City midweek in Georgia. Twenty-four flood events are recorded through the continental USA this hour, 4 of these are still active in the Atlantic drainage basin in Georgia.
Ohoopee River still runs five and a half feet over the channel near Reidsville, Canoochee River is a foot over the channel near Claxton. Ogeechee River continues to overflow the channel by three feet, no change in 24 hours here. Savannah River has not dropped by much, a fraction of an inch at most, still half a foot over the channel at Clyo. See the black tags on the map to the right for details.
Streamflows in the north continue normal to below normal, this is expected to change with the rain tonight.
Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Camden: Kingsland Boil water advisory issued Friday Nov 8 following emergency repairs to a main water line. Kingsland water system serves a population of 22,448 from a groundwater well source. Kingsland is an EPA enforcement priority with a current serious violation, exceeding the maximum contaminant level for total trihalomethane, a violation of Stage 2 disinfection and by-products of disinfection rule. The last sanitary survey of the facility was conducted by state of Georgia April 2023.
