Category 4 Hurricane Milton intensity increasing

A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for the Coast of Georgia and South Carolina from north of the mouth of the St. Marys River to South Santee River, South Carolina.
A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area within 36 hours.

At 100 PM CDT (1800 UTC), the eye of Hurricane Milton was located
near latitude 22.5 North, longitude 88.2 West. Although Milton has
been wobbling during the past few hours, its longer-term motion is
toward the east-northeast near 8 mph (13 km/h). A turn toward the
northeast with an increase in forward speed is expected to begin
later today and continue through Thursday. On the forecast track,
the center of Milton will move across the eastern Gulf of Mexico and
approach the west-central coast of Florida through Wednesday. The
center is likely to make landfall along the west-central coast of
Florida on Wednesday night, and move east-northeastward across
central Florida through Thursday.
Aircraft reconnaissance data and satellite images indicate that
maximum sustained winds have increased to near 155 mph (250 km/h)
with higher gusts. Milton is a category 4 hurricane on the
Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. While fluctuations in
intensity are expected, Milton is forecast to remain an extremely
dangerous hurricane through landfall in Florida.
Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 30 miles (45 km) from
the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105
miles (165 km).
The minimum central pressure based on dropsonde data is 923 mb
(27.26 inches).

Rip Currents: There is a high risk for rip currents Wednesday. An
elevated risk of rip currents is expected this week as long period
swells generated by distant Hurricane Kirk impact the beaches.
Coastal Bryan-Coastal Chatham-Coastal Liberty-Coastal McIntosh Counties in Georgia,
Beaufort-Coastal Colleton-Coastal Jasper Counties in South Carolina.
Streamflow Situation from the network of monitoring stations of the USGS Georgia Water Science Center
Sunny and clear at Peachtree City forecast center with normal streamflows in the north ranging to much above normal to high streamflows in the south impacting both sides of the divide, no hazardous weather officially forecast as of this report. Nine stations continue to record flood flows in the southeast Tuesday. See black tags on the map for provisional flood flow volume and depth.
Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Walker County: City of Lafayette issued a BWA Thursday due to elevated turbidity levels in the water supply at the Lee School water treatment plant. Connections east of Hwy 27 bypass, south of 136 St East, Naomi community Hwy 151, Corinth area, Hillcrest community, Walnut Grove area, Old Trion Hwy. City of Lafayette distributes treated surface water water purchased from Catoosa and Walker Counties to 18,177 residential customers.
Bryan County: Various private water service companies have issued boil water advisories this week including customers in the Coastal Health District. More than 25 locations in Bryan County are affected until further notice.
Bulloch County has 166 active drinking water permits. Many of these are experiencing BWA's post Hurricane Helene. Check for local advisories, if in doubt of the status of your local water, boil all water intended for drinking or food preparation for a minimum of one minute at a rolling boil to take care of possible microbiological contamination.
