Streamflows continue much above seasonal normal to high through north, central and south Georgia Thursday with ongoing flooding on both sides of the drainage divide. Four stations in the monitoring network continue to record flooding in the Gulf of Mexico basin including Ochlockonee River near Concord, FL, running half a foot over, we expect to see the end of this flooding tonight. Tributaries of the Suwannee River watershed, Withlachoochee and Alapaha Rivers continue to flood this hour. Withlachoochee River continues in moderate flood stage running six feet over the banks at US 84 near Quitman, the trend is a slow receding curve. Upstream at Skipper Bridge Rd near Bemiss, Withlacoochee River remains a foot over flood stage, this flooding could ne over tonight or tomorrow with no further rainfall in the basin. Alapaha River runs more than a foot over minor flood stage near the town of Alapaha in Berrien County. Two 99th percentile high flows are recorded this hour on the Flint River, the GA 26 station near Montezuma and downstream near Oakfield, these locations are not in action stage and the water levels are coming down.

Savannah River breached flood stage at Burtons Ferry Bridge Tuesday afternoon, leveling out close to two feet over at this report. Adjacent in the Atlantic drainage basin, Ogeechee River is still flooding at Midville, running a foot and a half over the channel, still flooding downstream at Rocky Ford Rd, barely an inch over this hour and looking to be back in the channel by noon. Ocmulgee River continues to flood, four plus feet over at US 341 near Hawkinsville. Ocmulgee breached the channel downstream at Abbeville yesterday late afternoon, that flow is rising rapidly now, heading for moderate flood stage. Ohoopee River peaked in major flood stage briefly yesterday, currently eight feet over the channel at Reidsville, the water level is in decline. Altamaha River continues to flood US 221 near Charlotteville, two and a half feet over. Flooding continues downstream near Baxley, Altamaha River is three and a half feet out of the channel at this station. Satilla River continues to flood at GA158 near Waycross, with tributaries Alabaha River flooding a foot and a half over the channel at GA 203 near Blackshear and Little Satilla River flooding at Offerman, according to USGS provisional data.
