Floodwaters shifting deeper south, Argyle issues system wide BWA

with debris. Avoid travel until water levels subside and roads have
been cleared. Do not drive through places where flood waters cover
the road. Turn around, don`t drown!

Streamflow Situation
from the network of monitoring stations of the USGS Georgia Water Science Center
Streamflows remain much above seasonal to high throughout the state Monday as flooding shifts deeper south along the major river systems. Large river channels have gathered the surface runoff from watersheds on both sides of the Georgia height of land divide. Chattahoochee River is no longer flooding at any of the monitored stations in the reference network. Flint River flooding has shifted down to north Taylor County US 19 near Carsonville with an extreme high flow action stage recorded at GA26 near Montezuma. Flood alert has gone out for this location in Macon County, provisional water level is recorded six inches below flood stage and rising as of this report. Also on the Gulf of Mexico side of the state divide, Ochlockonee River continues to flood at all three monitoring stations, GA188 near Coolidge still slightly over, still more than a foot over near Thomasville and more than three and a half feet out of the channel near Concord, FL. Adjacent Suwannee River watershed is flooding through the Little River at Adel and Hahira, the Alapaha River is flooding a foot over at GA125 near Irwinville and two and a half feet out of the channel near Alapaha in Berrien County. Withlacoochee River runs six feet over the channel at Skipper Bridge Rd near Bemiss. Do not attempt to drive through floodwater.
All flooding around Atlanta and in the north has receded. Alcovy River is no longer flooding below Covington. Flooding in the Atlantic basin has shifted south to Bibb County, Ocmulgee River recorded seven feet over at Macon this hour. Macon Water Authority treats and distributes drinking water sourced from Ocmulgee River, no drinking water advisories are posted as of this report. Oconee River is no longer flooding in the upper basin at Penfield, still flowing two feet over the channel near Oconee, impacting Wilkinson and Washington Counties. Ogeechee River is still flooding more than two and a half feet over at Midville impacting north Emanuel and south Burke Counties. Brier Creek is a foot out of the channel in central Burke County. Ohoopee River is 2 ft over at GA297 near Swainsboro, three feet over near Reidsville. Ocmulgee, Oconee and Ohoopee get together in the Altamaha River channel, now flooding US 221 near Charlotteville, two feet over the channel there. Altamaha is also still flooding downstream near Baxley, two feet over.

Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Clinch County: Argyle Water System has issued a system-wide BWA following power outage and loss of pressure caused by Hurricane Helene. This groundwater supplied system had barely recovered from Debby, now customers are boiling water again to ensure no microbiological contamination.
Toombs County: Vidalia Water issued a system wide BWA Saturday due to power grid and water outages in the aftermath of Helene. Vidalia serves a population of 14909 from groundwater well source in the Altamaha River watershed.
With power outages all over the state, drinking water advisories will be widespread as power is restored and service resumes. More to follow.
