Dry trend continues for north and central Georgia

Another calm day, according to the National Weather Service, no hazardous weather outlooks in effect for Georgia.

Streamflow Situation
Low flow volume in the Coosa River watershed northwest Georgia Thursday run the corresponding below normal and moderate drought ratings on the Georgia drought map. The north and central areas remain in a dry trend, the majority of streamflow gauges run below the 25th percentile, rated below seasonal normal to low. The southwest water levels remain elevated, lower Chattahoochee River and lower Flint River watersheds contributing above normal to much above normal flow volumes into the Gulf of Mexico. The Atlantic side of the state height-of-land-divide runs below normal through the north and central watersheds, shifting to normal and above seasonal normal levels in the southeast Altamaha, Satilla and Ogeechee Rivers watersheds. As of this reporting, there are no active floods recorded in the reference network, two low flows at 2nd percentile and no 1st percentile extreme low flows.

Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Jones County: A water service outage Monday led to a BWA impacting customers on Lite-N-Tie Rd, Clinton Crossing, Twin Lakes Dr, Aaron Circle, Homer Roberts Rd, Graham Rd and Walnut Grove Rd. Jones County distributes potable water to 12736 customers from a surface water source purchased from Macon Water Authority and or Gray Water System. The raw water source for Macon Water Authority is Javors Lucas Lake, located within the Ocmulgee River watershed north of Macon.

Habersham County: Clarkesville issed a Boil water advisory Monday for the Spring Street and Russ Circle area off of Washington Street, including Duncan Donuts until further notice. Clarkesville supplies potable water to 5785 customers from a surface water source in the Upper Chattahoochee River watershed, the intake is located in Soque River.
