Jones County, Clarksville issue BWAs
Safe Drinking Water Advisories
Jones County: A water service outage yesterday has brought on a BWA impacting customers connecting on Lite-N-Tie Rd, Clinton Crossing, Twin Lakes Dr, Aaron Circle, Homer Roberts Rd, Graham Rd and Walnut Grove Rd. Customers experiencing the loss of service must boil water intended for consumption until further notice. Jones County distributes potable water to 12736 customers from a surface water source purchased from Macon Water Authority and or Gray Water System. The raw water source for Macon Water Authority is Javors Lucas Lake, located within the Ocmulgee River watershed north of Macon.
Habersham County: Clarkesville issed a Boil water advisory yesterday for the Spring Street and Russ Circle area off of Washington Street, including Duncan Donuts until further notice. Clarkesville supplies potable water to 5785 customers from a surface water source in the Upper Chattahoochee River watershed, the intake is located in Soque River.
Streamflow Situation from the USGS network of monitors in Georgia
No more flooding or high flows recorded in the reference network Tuesday, Kinchafoonee Creek got under action stage last night around 11 pm at Preston, still receding at the time of this report. Southwest rivers and creeks continue to run above seasonal normal while the northwest remains in drought with below normal to much below normal water levels. The drought map has expanded overnight, Oconee River watershed tagged with moderate drought from Baldwin County down to the confluence with Ocmulgee in the south intersection of Wheeler and Montgomery Counties. Mid Chattahoochee River watershed has been escalated to moderate drought from Cherokee and south Fulton down to the top of Muscogee County. The remaining surface area of north and central Georgia is rated below normal, leaving out the Tennessee River west watershed unrated, Dade Walker and Catoosa Counties the only part of north state not in drought.
