Streamflows much above normal through the southwest, no active flooding in the reference network
Streamflow Situation from the USGS network of monitors in Georgia
Pachitla Creek has settled down overnight, dipping below action stage near Edison around 3 am this morning, the flow trend is steadily receding. Kinchafoonee Creek breached flood stage Saturday at Preston, that flooding ended in the wee hours yesterday morning, still in action stage for possible flooding, the water level on a steady decline as of this update. Streamflows in the southwest remain elevated, much above seasonal normal to high. Blue tags on the map to the right indicate rivers and creeks in extreme high flow or action stage. Provisional data from the streamflow sensors does not give us all the locations experiencing high flow or flooding, they indicate conditions at specific locations, the sensor data to be confirmed. We are able to pick up the flow trends, rising, level or receding. Alerts sent to subscribers are intended an early warning to be confirmed before taking action.
