Streamflow Situation from the USGS network of monitors in Georgia
Pachitla Creek is on the rise in action stage near Edison this morning, an alert has gone out to subscribers. Kinchafoonee Creek flooding reported at Preston yesterday ended around 330 am this morning, that water level in action stage however the flow sensors indicate a receding trend. Streamflows in the southwest are generally rated much above normal to high. Look for blue tags on the map to the right for high flow or action stage, black tags will be added when any of these locations records flow above flood stage. Use caution driving around flooded roadways, just a foot of moving water can carry a vehicle off the road.

The flood watch from NWS has been cancelled for Georgia though more rain is expected through the day today. Isolated storm events forecast for north and central Georgia could deliver heavy rain with frequent lightning. North and central streamflow monitors continue recording below normal to much below seasonal normal. The drought map appears as reported yesterday, the entire north and central surface area rated below normal on both sides of the drainage divide, three areas of moderate drought hanging around the west and north state lines.

Monroe County: A broken water main on Tuesday last week initiated a precautionary BWA impacting customers along Big Buck Trail. North Monroe Water System supplies drinking water to 2903 customers, including those connecting on Big Buck Trail. North Monroe County distributes surface water purchased from City of Forsyth, the surface water source for City of Forsyth is Tobesofkee Creek, the raw water intake is upstream of the dam and Lake Tobesofkee.
