Streamflow situation based on provisional data from USGS streamflow gauges in the rivers and creeks of Georgia
18 stations remain abvoe flood stage according to unverified data from USGS streamflow gages throughout the central and south portions of Georgia Saturday. Flood water has moved downstream, mainly south and east as most flooding is occurring in the Atlantic drainage basin.

In the Mississippi drainage side of the state divide, Flint River is in action stage at GA32 near Oakfield and also downstream at Albany. The flow appears to have peaked two inches below flood stage at GA32, more to follow if it holds and begins to recede, or if the level does increase and breach flood stage. Flow near Albany is still a foot below flood stage, however the trend is rising. More to follow.

Ocmulgee River is still flooding at US341 at Hawkinsville and Abbeville. Oconee River is still flooding near Oconee and Dublin, spilling over the banks downstream at Mount Vernon as well, flood stage breached around 245 am this morning.

Altamaha River is still flooding near Charlotteville and Baxley, Little Satilla River still over at Offerman, Satilla River still flooding at Atkinson. Ohoopee River is still flooding at Reidsville, Ogeechee River floods on at Midville and Eden. Savannah River still floods at Cylo, Canoochee River is flooding at Claxton.

Check black tags on the map for updated flood flow levels. Blue tags for action stage of 99th percentile flows.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Drought Map USGS 7-day average streamflow compared with historic average
The southwest corner of Taylor County in Ochlockonee watershed is off the drought map Saturday. No part of Georgia is in any category of drought or below normal rating.

USGS Provisional Data Statement
Data are provisional and subject to revision until they have been thoroughly reviewed and received final approval. Current condition data relayed by satellite or other telemetry are automatically screened to not display improbable values until they can be verified.
Provisional data may be inaccurate due to instrument malfunctions or physical changes at the measurement site. Subsequent review based on field inspections and measurements may result in significant revisions to the data.
Data users are cautioned to consider carefully the provisional nature of the information before using it for decisions that concern personal or public safety or the conduct of business that involves substantial monetary or operational consequences. Information concerning the accuracy and appropriate uses of these data or concerning other hydrologic data may be obtained from the USGS.

USGS seven-day average streamflows at each monitoring location are rated against the historic average flow volume for this day. Results appear on the drought map, showing surface area with a rating: below normal, moderate drought, severe drought or extreme drought. The drought-rated surface area most often follows watershed lines, the physical topography of drainage and direction of flow of the surface water across the state. The watershed layer on the map shows surface area impacted by streamflows in each drainage area. Turn the directional arrows on to see which way the water flows, along with hazardous spills reported in the area that could have an impact on water quality.
