Flood and streamflow report
USGS Streamflow gauges - see Provisional Data Statement below

Altamaha is still flooding at the downstream Baxley station, running four inches over flood stage. Satilla River continues to flood at Atkinson, running about four inches over as of this update.

See black tags on the map for flood flow details.

Streamflows in the northwest are predominantly below seasonal normal with nine stations much below normal. Mississippi basin south flows are mostly below normal. On the Atlantic side, Savannah River and tributaries are flowing normal in the northeast, mostly normal values through Central and south GA with a handful of stations below normal. There are no extreme low flows as of this update.

Drought Map USGS 7-day average streamflow compared with historic average
Upper Chattahoochee River watershed and Upper Flint River watersheds hop back on the drought map Wednesday at below normal. Also swinging for the Mississippi drainage basin, Upper Coosa River watershed's Whitfield, Murray, Gilmer and Gordon, east Chattooga and north Floyd County area rated below normal Wednesday. A small area of west central Dade County not included in the Tennessee West watershed area is still showing up rated severe drought.

On the Atlantic side of the state divide, Lower Ocmulgee River watershed area rated below normal this morning as seen yesterday, south Laurens, east Dodge, west Wheeler and north Telfair, reported incorrectly in yesterday's update as Oconee River watershed, should have read Ocmulgee watershed.

USGS seven-day average streamflows at each monitoring location are rated against the historic average flow volume for this day. Results appear on the drought map, showing surface area with a rating: below normal, moderate drought, severe drought or extreme drought. The drought-rated surface area most often follows watershed lines, the physical topography of drainage and direction of flow of the surface water across the state. The watershed layer on the map shows surface area impacted by streamflows in each drainage area. Turn the directional arrows on to see which way the water flows, along with hazardous spills reported in the area that could have an impact on water quality.

HABs update from Georgia Department of Natural Resources - Coastal Resources Division Shellfish and Water Quality Unit
