Streamflows situation from USGS Waterwatch gages throughout Georgia
Normal streamflows in the south have bent the 7-day average far enough to clear the drought map Tuesday morning, with one small area remaining below normal south of Harris, Talbot and Taylor Counties on the Mississippi basin side of the divide. On the Atlantic basin side, the drought-rated area ends at Jasper, Putnam and Hancock, Oglethorpe, Wilkes and Screven on the Atlantic basin side.

The north is still dry, streamflow monitors are recording below normal to much below normal values in all but the Tennessee River west side and east watershed areas. As of this update, the Upper Savannah River is rated severe hydrologic drought, the Coosa River watershed and Upper Flint watershed are rated moderate drought. Chattahoochee River and Upper Ocmulgee River watershed remain below normal. There are no extreme low flows or high flows in Georgia. More to follow.

USGS seven-day average streamflows at each monitoring location are rated against the historic average flow volume for this date, determining the drought map for the day. The drought map shows areas rated below normal, moderate drought, severe drought and extreme drought.
