Streamflows are returning to normal seasonal values statewide Monday, including the drought plagued north. As of this update, there are no extreme low flows or high flows in Georgia. More to follow.
Drought situation from USGS Waterwatch 7-day average streamflow compared with historic flow
Mississippi basin's Upper Coosa River Whitfield and Murray Counties accelerated to severe hydrologic drought status Friday, remains so Monday morning. The Atlantic basin's Upper Savannah River watershed remains at extreme drought Monday from Rabun to north Hart County. None of the streamflow gages of the state are recording low flows, there is one monitor recording much below normal flow levels in the Upper Savannah, on the Tallulah River near Clayton. Updates in progress, more to follow.
USGS seven-day average streamflows at each monitoring location are rated against the historic average flow volume for this date, determining the drought map for the day. The drought map shows areas rated below normal, moderate drought, severe drought and extreme drought.
